Discover FlyNet® and airport lounges: Eurowings Discover expands range of services on board and on the ground

Eurowings Discover, the Lufthansa Group’s leisure carrier, is continuing to develop its product offering this year and will be coming up with two highlights in the next few months: Travelers will then in the future be able to enjoy internet on board long-haul flights as well as access to numerous additional airport lounges on short-, medium- and long-haul routes.

  • Fast internet with Discover FlyNet® on board long-haul flights
  • Access to many more airport lounges for premium and status customers on short, medium and long-haul routes
  • Consistent travel experience through harmonization with the Lufthansa Group product offering

Above the clouds: surf the internet quickly and easily

In the course of the second quarter, Eurowings Discover starts to successively activate connectivity systems on its long-haul aircraft. On a total of ten of the twelve Airbus A330s, travelers will then in the future be able to use the internet during their flight, similar to Lufthansa’s FlyNet® service.

The service will be sourced and handled by Deutsche Telekom, and payment can be made using miles as well as the usual payment methods. Guests can select from three internet packages and can purchase them before the flight in the Lufthansa Telekom Ground Shop or during the flight in the FlyNet® WLAN portal. They then have access to the fastest internet on German leisure flights:

  • Messaging (Speed up to 100 kbps., from EUR 5)
  • Premium 2h (Speed up to 4 Mbps., from EUR 15)
  • Premium Full Flight (Speed up to 4 Mbps., from EUR 25)

Hotspot logins, e.g. from Deutsche Telekom, can also be used very easily with an existing subscription. Another advantage is that purchased internet packages can be redeemed both on Eurowings Discover and on Lufthansa long-haul flights.

In addition to the existing, extensive inflight entertainment and the free Onboard Cloud, Discover FlyNet® will provide travelers with even more entertainment on their way to their vacation.

From lounge to lounge: travel even more relaxed

Eurowings Discover already offers its premium and status customers access to numerous lounges worldwide, especially on long-haul routes. The leisure carrier is now successively adding further airport lounges to its offering, with Cancún, Zanzibar and Mombasa just having been added in the past few weeks.

In the coming months, airport lounges on short- and medium-haul routes will also be added, wherever they are available, in order to offer guests the maximum possible comfort. At destinations where no lounges are available, Eurowings Discover is looking at ways of offering guests an attractive alternative.

With both product additions, Eurowings Discover is contributing to the goal of aligning its product offering even more closely with that of the Lufthansa Group in order to offer guests a consistent and high-quality travel experience.
