Norse Atlantic Airways takes off from South Florida once again with its inaugural flight from FLL to Berlin

Thanks to Norse Atlantic Airways direct flights to Berlin, Germany, the connection between Fort Lauderdale and Europe is expanding. This marks the start-up airline’s second launch celebration at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) in six months. Flights between FLL and Berlin will operate three days a week with one-way fares starting from $155.

Berlin is a delightful winter destination where travelers can enjoy the snow, Christmas lights, holiday treats, shopping and more. Our affordable fares will allow our customers to use their extra travel dollars to explore Germany and experience new and unique adventures with family and friends, said Bjorn Tore Larsen, CEO of Norse Atlantic Airways.

– As we celebrate our inaugural service from Fort Lauderdale tonight, we are pleased to now be able to offer direct flights between these two cities.  

Before take-off, the celebration of the new route to Berlin took place in terminal 4, departure level where special guests heard remarks from FLL CEO/Director of Aviation, Mark Gale, Broward County Commissioner, Michael Udine, Visit Lauderdale EVP, Tony Cordo, and Norse CEO, Bjorn Tore Larsen.

– It’s an exciting day for FLL as we welcome the airport’s first-ever scheduled nonstop route to Berlin, said Mark Gale, CEO/Director of Aviation.

– Norse’s new service between Fort Lauderdale and Germany’s capital city follows its June launch of Oslo, Norway flights. Both routes play a pivotal role in helping reestablish FLL as a transatlantic gateway. We look forward to welcoming other European flights in the near future.”   

The flight from FLL to Berlin, operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, departed at 11:30PM and is due to touch down at 2:40PM local time in Berlin following a ten-hour flight time.  

Norse Atlantic offers two cabin choices, Economy and Premium. Passengers can choose from a simple range of fares, Light, Classic and Plus, that reflect the way that they want to travel, and which options are important to them. Light fares represent Norse’s value option while Plus fares include the maximum baggage allowance, two meal services, an enhanced airport and onboard experience and increased ticket flexibility.
