Leadership Change at RCL Cruises Ltd, Nordic

Julie Ødegaard has been appointed interim General Manager Nordic for the Royal Caribbean International Ltd (RCL) cruise company. She will have overall responsibility for the Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises brands in the Nordic region. Her Nordic responsibility will include Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. Julie replaces Mats Jacobsson who is stepping down as General Manager after 2,5 years in the role.

Previously Head of Finance for the Nordics region Julie brings a wealth of knowledge to the role as we head towards a big year for the RCCL brands.

– During 2018 we will see Royal Caribbean launch Symphony of the Seas, Celebrity Cruises launch Edge, and Azamara Club Cruises introduce Azamara Pursuit” comments Stuart Leven, Vice President EMEA and Managing Director of RCL Cruises Ltd.

– It is shaping up to be a massive year for all of our brands, and we are enjoying tremendous support from all of the Nordic countries. Mats has developed our trade partnerships greatly over the last two years and I look forward to Julie continuing the positive momentum.”

Caribbean is very much open for business:

Demand for Caribbean cruises from the Nordics region has grown again and remains the most popular destination from the Nordics region.

– As we move towards the busiest booking period of the year we are seeing a return to the favourite destinations in the Caribbean, and expect this to continue to grow over the coming months” comments Julie Oedegaard.

– I would like to thank our trade partners for their focus and support over the last couple of months and look forward to working with them to mutually grow our Caribbean business as we head into the key booking period of the year”.
